Certaldo is in an ideal geographical position,centrally placed between the three Tuscan cities of major historical and artistic interest,Firenze 40km,Siena 35km and Pisa 50km.
Also not too distant from Volterra 40km and San Gimignano 10km.

- By train: one arrives in Certaldo by train directly on the Firenze-Siena line.

- By car: arriving from the North take the motorway A1 Milano-Roma direction South,exit Firenze Certosa,take the Autopalio Firenze-Siena in direction Siena,come off motorway at exit Poggibonsi North and follow the indications for Certaldo.Arriving from the South take the motorway A1 Roma-Milano direction North,exit Valdichiana,follow the indications for Siena,at Siena take the highway in direction Florence exit Poggibonsi North,follow the indications for Certaldo.
- By air: the nearest airports are "Galileo Galilei"in Pisa(follow the signs for the FI-PI-LI direction Firenze,exit at Empoli Ovest-Ponte a Elsa and continue towards Siena then Castelfiorentino-Certaldo)or the airport"A.Vespucci"in Florence(follow the indications for A1/E35 towards Roma,then exit Firenze-Certosa and exit Poggibonsi North and follow the indications for Certaldo).
Certaldo is connected to the lower part of the town by a funicular(close to the train station)with departure and ticket office in the proximity of Piazza Boccaccio and arrival near to Via Boccaccio.
One can arrive in Certaldo Alto by car driving up Via del Castello or the panoramic route towards the historical centre that takes one to the parking area below the medieval village walls.
